Like many women, you most likely consider your hair as one of the important parts of your body. After all, it helps you complete your overall outfit and create the look you want. It also gives your self-confidence a boost and makes you feel more beautiful and attractive. Hair Extentions Bondi by Head Office Hair Specialist has years of experience to offer the best hair styles for any type of person.

But are you doing anything to take care of your crowning glory? If your answer is “No”, it's time to take some steps to protect your tresses and keep them safe and healthy. You can start by checking out these common hair care blunders and ensure you won't make them:

Ignoring hair issues

Lots of people ignore hair and scalp problems because they don't seem to be life-threatening and/or can easily be disguised by various accessories or hairstyles. But don't make the same mistake; by pretending that these issues don't exist, you'll further damage your locks and make it harder to maintain your preferred look and style.

So, as early as possible, find solutions for any problems you might have with your tresses. For instance, if you've noticed that your hair is thinning or you've developed female pattern baldness, give hair loss treatment products a try. Specifically, look for tonics and shampoos that are designed to inhibit FGF-5 (a protein that's associated with hair fall), help in maintaining your scalp health and give your locks more volume.

Working with the wrong hairstylists

It's easy to search for hairstylists on Google and pick one who lives nearest to you. The hardest part is finding an expert who won't destroy your tresses by using the wrong techniques and equipment or applying products that have poor quality or are inappropriate for your hair type.

So don't just hire the first hairstylist you see; instead, do your research and find someone who can give you excellent services. If you're based in Bristol, for instance, drop me a line here at Hair by Henry. Because of my huge passion for hair, I took comprehensive courses on hairdressing, gained Level 2 and 3 qualifications and learned from some of the best hairstylists in the industry. I have also been involved in prestigious competitions like those organised by Wella, L'Oreal and Redken and continue to develop my abilities by enrolling in various programmes and training other hairdressers. With my skills, experience and qualifications, you have the assurance that you'll get great results and obtain the best possible cut and style.

Sticking to the wrong habits

You might not realise it, but your lifestyle might be taking a toll on your tresses. So, as soon as possible, ditch your bad habits and start taking the right steps towards smoother and more beautiful locks. Here are some tips to help you get started:

  • Eat foods that make your hair healthier. Some of your best options include salmon, avocados and walnuts, which all contain omega-3 fatty acids that makes your tresses more hydrated and less likely to break. Don't forget to eat spinach (which has iron that prevents hair loss), citrus fruits (which have Vitamin C that promotes iron absorption and helps make hair shafts healthier) and nuts (which have Vitamin E and helps protect your locks from sun damage).
  • Don't go overboard with shampooing to avoid damaging your hair. Apply shampoo and conditioner every other day or two times a week, and use dry shampoo in between to remove oil and make your locks smell fresh.
  • Air dry your tresses as much as you can. If this isn't possible, you can use your hair dryer but opt for the cool or warm setting and apply creams or serums that protect your locks from heat.
  • Do your homework when shopping for hair loss treatment tonics and other kinds of products to buy only those that match your hair type.

Steer clear of these mistakes to protect your crowning glory and make it healthier and more beautiful!
